It all started when McKay brought home a kids French cookbook. Everyone wanted to participate so we each helped make part of our dinner!
I decided we needed some berets and scarves to at to our experience. The boys even donned some "facial hair" for the occasion.
William made some delicious chicken skewers with grapefruit. We all really enjoyed the chicken and bacon, but think we'll leave the grapefruit to the French.
Belle Elizabella and her daddy made some Crouche Monsours for us. Basically you make a sandwich with butter on the inside and a piece of ham and Swiss cheese. Bake it in the over for 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the bread is toasted. It is known as French Fast Food and was DELICIOUS!!!
Mia and I had fun posing in our cute berets. Mia really liked her scarf as it was easy to find access to her mouth. Her beret kept falling into her eyes, but as long as she had the scarf handy she didn't seem to mind. Siena liked her beret until we were supposed to wear them and then you couldn't keep it on her. Oh well, c'est la vie!
McKay made a chocolate mousse which was tres bien!!! (very good) It was definitely something we'll have to make again.

When Elizabella put on her French attire, she informed me that McKay thought she looked very cute. I must agree.
Desert didn't last long as it was quickly gobbled up.
We had fun decorating for the big night. We had several French flags up that we had made, used the French colors- red, white and blue when setting the table. We even had a drawing of the Eiffel Tower in the background. We also had several french phrases written throughout the room so we could practice our French as we ate. These included Bonjour (hello), C'est tres bien (it's very good), comment t'apple? (what is your name?), je m'apple _____ (my name is ____), merci beaucoup (thank you a lot), etc. William and McKay were really good and trying to incorporate these words throughout our meal.
Ohh I like it, looked like a fun (and delicious) meal! Were those root beer floats? I've always said c'est la vie, but never knew how it's spelled. Now I know.
