Saturday was the cub scout Pinewood Derby. Last year William did "OK" but this year he and Ron were determined to do a bit better. (Maybe it was more Ron and I- mainly Ron though.) Ron and William learned a lot about how to make a fast car and believe it or not, but it was not the design of the car. It was all in the wheels and the nails. Crazy, huh?

And the Runner up is....
Even She Was Listening
We've been trying to read the scriptures with our children every night before we go to bed. Sometimes Mia and Siena are quite a distraction while they are there and we didn't think that they paid much attention while we were reading. Tonight as we were having family home evening Siena opened up the Book of Mormon and started reading, beginning with the phrase "And it Came to Pass."

Rain Rain Rain
It has been raining off and on for the last couple days. I was sitting in our living room and could hear a kid outside really enjoying him or herself. I looked up and realized that William was outside frolicking and having a great time. Eventually ALL of the kids except for Mia decided to join in the fun.

Siena's 2 already?
She always keeps us active and alert to things around us. She decided to decorate her body and clothes while we were up in Wyoming last week. She literally was decked out from head to toe.
Ron had to go out of town this afternoon to help out with our ward's youth conference so we'll be celebrating Siena's Birthday tomorrow. Before he left he put together her new set of wheels for her to enjoy on her special day! She was really excited.
As I was trying to take a picture with Siena and her new trike she made sure to get off her bike so we could see the whole thing.
After a long ride around the block we decided to cool off with an ice cream cone. Siena had fun eating it and trying to clean up the drips with a wet washcloth, instead of her tongue.

Little Miss Mia
Mia is now 5 months old! I can't believe that we have had this sweet baby in our home for that long, and yet I honestly can't imagine life without her. She has been the perfect baby...honestly. She possesses such a sweet and happy disposition that when she does cry (which is rare) it is hard to not try to cater to her every wish.
Mia recently discovered her tongue and likes to show it off.

Bonjour!
We enjoyed a fun Saturday night learning a little about the French culture.
It all started when McKay brought home a kids French cookbook. Everyone wanted to participate so we each helped make part of our dinner!
I decided we needed some berets and scarves to at to our experience. The boys even donned some "facial hair" for the occasion.

William made some delicious chicken skewers with grapefruit. We all really enjoyed the chicken and bacon, but think we'll leave the grapefruit to the French.

Belle Elizabella and her daddy made some Crouche Monsours for us. Basically you make a sandwich with butter on the inside and a piece of ham and Swiss cheese. Bake it in the over for 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the bread is toasted. It is known as French Fast Food and was DELICIOUS!!!

Mia and I had fun posing in our cute berets. Mia really liked her scarf as it was easy to find access to her mouth. Her beret kept falling into her eyes, but as long as she had the scarf handy she didn't seem to mind. Siena liked her beret until we were supposed to wear them and then you couldn't keep it on her. Oh well, c'est la vie!

McKay made a chocolate mousse which was tres bien!!! (very good) It was definitely something we'll have to make again.
When Elizabella put on her French attire, she informed me that McKay thought she looked very cute. I must agree.
Desert didn't last long as it was quickly gobbled up.
We had fun decorating for the big night. We had several French flags up that we had made, used the French colors- red, white and blue when setting the table. We even had a drawing of the Eiffel Tower in the background. We also had several french phrases written throughout the room so we could practice our French as we ate. These included Bonjour (hello), C'est tres bien (it's very good), comment t'apple? (what is your name?), je m'apple _____ (my name is ____), merci beaucoup (thank you a lot), etc. William and McKay were really good and trying to incorporate these words throughout our meal.
